Promoting Fun, Fitness and Health for CV Youth! 

The Castro Valley High School football, soccer and track teams now compete in a state-of-the-art stadium that is the envy of the entire region, thanks in large part to the efforts of the Castro Valley Sports Foundation. The CVSF played a major role in the conception and construction of the CVHS sports complex, which includes a track, soccer/football field and tennis courts. The complex is also used extensively for the school’s physical education programs. The CVSF helped the Castro Valley Unified School district mount and win Bond Measure B, which provided basic funding for a badly-needed new stadium. Thanks to generous support from the community, the 4,000-seat sports complex is strong testimony to the tremendous teamwork in Castro Valley. 

The CVSF continues its mission as a fundraising vehicle to improve fields, athletic equipment and provide grants to sports-related activities.  

COMMUNITY DOLLARS IN ACTION 

• The CVSF donated $180,000 to the stadium project for the electronic marquee on Redwood Road and the message board inside the stadium.
• The CVSF contributed $16,500 in grant money to CVHS sports programs. CVSF fundraising provided a new track and field storage locker, an electronic scoreboard for wrestling meets, a girls’ softball pitching machine, a place clock for the swimming pool, additional helmets for the football team, training equipment for soccer players and other needed items for athletics.
• The CVSF donated a $4,500 batting cage for the CVHS baseball programs
